character: Samson
fandom: The Vampire Diaries
AU elements: He's a member of the Original Vampire family - the eldest son.
information: Samson parted ways with his family early on, despite how close they had originally been. He felt betrayed by his mother's infidelity and grew to dislike his younger brother, Niklaus, as a result. Over time, Samson became a vampire hunter, determined to wipe out the creatures he and his family had created. He made his way to the American West before being found by Klaus. When Klaus killed the woman he had fallen in love with, Samson gave up and allowed his younger brother to entomb him. However, Klaus chose to leave Samson's body forgotten and buried in the West as he moved on. Luckily (or unluckily, depending), the daughter of a Native American shaman had known Samson's secret and swiftly freed Samson from his grave and sacrificed herself to help him regain his strength. Ever since, Samson has been searching for a way to kill his brother, all the while leaving a trail of vampire bodies in his wake.
